Bishop Abed kwabena Boakye Asiamah aka Ajagurajah, is a leader of Universal Spiritual Outreach popularly known as Ajagurajah Movement in Ghana. Ajagurajah sounds strange it is actually a name of an angel. ‘Ajagura’ means warrior and ‘jah’ means God therefore Ajagurajah means warrior of God. Therefore he, Bishop Asiamah, sees himself a true prophet of God sent to carry out his assignment on earth.
Therefore he Bishop Asiamah hangs a copper snake around his neck so that anyone who has any sickness be it headache, stomachache etc would get healed immediately they gaze on the copper snake on his neck.
According to him many people have testified to the healing potency of the copper snake. For those who might not be familiar with the Ajagurajah Movement, it is a spiritual church locally called ‘sunsum sore’.
Spiritual churches used to be very popular about 40 – 50 years ago before the advent of charismatic churches in Ghana.
These churches mainly deal with angels and spirit beings. There’s a lot of music, dance and chanting of incantations and use of different candles, incense and oils as well.
Their services are also characterized by the usage of bells to summon spirits. They identify as Christians.

Bishop Ajagurajah, the founder of the Universal Spiritual Outreach, also known as the Ajagurajah Movement, has stated that joining his’ministry’ is not for the faint of heart.
According to him, becoming a member of the spiritual church is extremely difficult because interested individuals must undergo intense scrutiny to determine their credibility.
In an interview with Abusua FM’s drive show in Kumasi, Bishop Ajagurajah said that joining his movement is as difficult as obtaining an American visa.
He stated that only a few people are
chosen after their mental and emotional capabilities are assessed, and that their commitment to keeping secrets is also essential in order to be considered full members.
“Not everyone is eligible to join the Ajagurajah movement. Do you notice what I’m wearing and what I’m wearing around my neck? Take a look at my rings. “It has a certain power,” he explained.
“You cannot be a member of Ajagurajah if you are unable to keep secrets and go about talking in any way.” Every statement you make during the Ajagurajah membership interview must be verified.”
The Ajagurajah Movement is well-known in Ghana due to its leader’s controversial Bible teachings.
