Captain Smart began his career in broadcasting in the early 2000s, working for a number of radio stations in Ghana. He quickly became known for his hard-hitting investigative reporting and his willingness to speak out against corruption and social injustice.
In 2013, Captain Smart joined Adom FM, a popular radio station in Accra, Ghana’s capital city. He became the host of the station’s morning show, “Dwaso Nsem,” which quickly became one of the most popular radio programs in the country. During his time at Adom FM, Captain Smart was known for his fearless reporting and his ability to hold public officials accountable.
In 2020, Captain Smart left Adom FM and joined Angel FM, another popular radio station in Accra. He currently hosts the morning show, “Anopa Bofo,” which has continued to be popular with listeners.

Captain wanted to be a soldier, and after completing Apam Senior High School in 2000, he enlisted in the Ghana Armed Forces. But he couldn’t finish his training because his mum didn’t want his only child to become a soldier. So when he returned from the training ground, one of his uncles, a notable politician in Ghana who helped him enlist into the service, decided to give him the name Captain since he had a passion for the profession but couldn’t pass out.
Captain Smart started farming after he returned from the Armed Forces Training School, and he did that till somewhere in 2001 when he landed his first radio job at Radio Peace in Winneba, Central Region. He worked with Radio Peace for ten (10) months before joining Otec FM in Kumasi. Kessewaa Radio, formally Less Radio in Kumasi, is the next radio station he worked with, and later Fox FM, also in Kumasi. In 2013, Captain came to Accra and joined Multimedia Ghana’s Adom FM, where he hosted a radio show called “Famewoso.”
After a few years at Adom FM, Captain joined Angel Broadcasting Network’s Angel TV/FM on June 1, 2020. He also did “Fabewoso,” Morning Show at Angel FM/TV, and after he started having issues at ABN and parted ways with them, he introduced his own online television station called “Smart TV.” On June 1, 2021, Smart joined Media General Onua TV. He works now at Onua TV as the host of Onua Maakye, a morning show.
